As a sidenote I have joined the team behind the strictly historical Total War (EB I for RTW, EB II for MTW II) to help with the Germanic faction(s) and possibly do The Bosporan Kingdom (if I can get access to my Statsbiblioteket account).
It is an honour to me, and one with great opportunity, the standards EB sets are very high and games like this is an important part of propagating, teaching and telling history in the future. Wiki has a good article on EB here.

New computer
After the motherboard + harddisc crash on the other. Regin showed himself as a faithful friend in need.
In any case, now start the reconstruction of data lost. I will have to go and see if PC-lageret can salvage some.

Ease-of-Use
In order to ease the distinction between the many NPCs, especially Germans with similar names, I am compiling a list of NPCs, notice that I have finally found some ancient Celtic female names, so Caecilia's wife has a name now.

Alea Jacta Est
The Gripping Beast figures have been ordered... Rubicon has been crossed and the players shall experience the turmoil of the late Res Publica Romana, the boundless ambition of the patricians and restless energy of the plebs, the chaos of civil upheaval and heat of battle under The Eagles...
A small note to players.
As far as possible existing historical characters have been used in the game, as have Roman expressions (Latin that is), and a sound historical foundation. It is my intension that everything should rest on historical facts and that there should be hours of interesting reading for players who care to dig a bit or even just google some names and expressions or follow the links. Rome has such a rich history that it would be a shame not to use it.
Further, in order to keep the game exiting for players it is entirely possible that the start of the game will be a bifurcation point from which history as we know it may run differently in our own world and that of Lucius Cornelius Scipio. Meaning that in fact he may just get lucky and become First Man or Dictator of Rome.
04-09-09, the astute visitor will notice that Ptolomai's germania map has been removed. The page I linked to seem to not work any more and it was the only one of its kind.
